چکیده

We propose a theory for the effective interaction between soft dendritic molecules that is based on the shape of the monomer density profile of the macromolecules at infinite dilutions. By applying Flory-type arguments and making use of the experimentally measured density profiles, we derive a Gaussian effective interaction whose parameters are determined by the size and monomer number of the dendrimers that are derived from small-angle neutron scattering ~SANS! measurements. By applying this theory to concentrated dendrimer solutions we calculate theoretical structure factors and compare them with experimental ones, derived from a detailed analysis of SANS-data. We find very good agreement between theory and experiment below the overlap concentration, where drastic shape deformations of the dendrimers are absent. © 2002 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1486209#

Negative Selection Based Data Classification with Flexible Boundaries

One of the most important artificial immune algorithms is negative selection algorithm, which is an anomaly detection and pattern recognition technique; however, recent research has shown the successful application of this algorithm in data classification. Most of the negative selection methods consider deterministic boundaries to distinguish between self and non-self-spaces. In this paper, two...

Interaction of cationic phosphorus dendrimers with lipid membranes

Large unilamellar liposomes and multilamellar vesicles consisting of DMPC interacted with cationic phosphorus-containing dendrimers CPDs G3 and G4. DSC and ζ -potential measurements have shown that liposomal-dendrimeric molecular recognition occurs due to the interaction between the complementary surface groups. Calorimetric studies indicate that the enthalpy of the transition of the lipids tha...

A Theoretical Study of H2S and CO2 Interaction with the Single-Walled Nitrogen Doped Carbon Nanotubes

The physical adsorption of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide gases on the zigzag (5,0) carbon nanotubes doped with nitrogen was investigated through the application of B3LYP/6-31G* at the level of theory on Gaussian 03 software. A variety of stable and high abundance structures of nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes were considered in order to study the interaction between the mentioned gases in ...
